How Good Feeling Good Feels

Sounds kind of like a contradiction or an oxymoron, but this is thought has been ruminating on my mind for a while. I’ve been taught that feeling good for some reason has to have implications with it, whether subconsciously or not, and the default should normally not be walking around with no worries and a smile on your face. As I’m typing this I’m listening to AskGaryVee episode 271 with Tim Ferriss and they’re mentioning being in love with your self and self esteem. The biggest switch I’ve mentally and emotionally had since discovering self-help has been to switch my default from questioning good moods and feelings (bringing them down), to loving and supporting and opening myself to them when I am in a good mood. And the funny thing is is ‘feeling good’ is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Like pushing one domino down (complimenting a girls overalls on the elevator) sets in motion the rest of the morning and clears up the path to being in a great mood. This topic involved two different processes, one more nuanced than the other. The first is learning to put yourself in a good mood, which is easier with practice and fun to do. This could be internally (self amusing) or externally (shooting shit with friends). The second process is feeling that good emotion and energy inside yourself and being happy it is there. That is so much more nuanced and elusive then just tactically putting yourself in a good mood. It’s almost like that classic optical illusion checkerboard where you can see the gray dots in between the checkered squares but when you look at them they quickly shift. Nice! Feeling good about feeling good takes into account all of your past conditioning and assumptions about your life. But once you learn that being in a good mood is good for everyone, it becomes that much better! Uplifting the energy around you draws people in and creates a good mood all around. Love to see more of where this goes. Thanks! It's nice to be back :)
